One Quote:
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” — Dr. Seuss
You don't have to be all things to all people.
Be different, move fast, and don’t be afraid to break things along the way.

Simple, tactical thread on the process and economics of buying a small, profitable business.
I love the Internet micro-communities being built around small business acquisition. It’s never as easy as it seems, but it’s cool to see more people shining a light on the possibilities for significant wealth creation that exist outside of sexy venture funded startups.
We talked about the mechanics—and challenges—on a recent episode of Where It Happens with Codie Sanchez. Worth a listen if you want to go deeper (Apple, Spotify, YouTube).
One Article:
Apparently March 14 was National Napping Day (who knew?!). I’ve never been much of a napper, but after reading more of the science behind it in When by Daniel Pink, I started taking it more seriously.
As someone who gets hit hard by the early afternoon lull, the idea of a 25-minute power nap certainly resonates, though it’s still not a consistent practice for me. I might start experimenting with it and seeing what it does for my focus and creativity. I’ll keep y’all posted!
By the way, this simple nap guide from Daniel Pink is great. He calls it the “nappuccino” if you down espresso or coffee right before it (by the time you wake up, the caffeine is kicking in and propels you forward). That’s a real power nap!
One Podcast:
Katie Haun on the Dark Web, Gangs, Investigating Bitcoin, and the New Magic of “Nifties” (NFTs)
Katie Haun is a former federal prosecutor who became the first female general partner at Andreessen Horowitz in 2018. She just announced a new $1.5 billion crypto-focused venture fund called Haun Ventures, the largest debut venture fund ever raised by a solo female founding partner.
The announcement sparked me to go back and listen to this Tim Ferriss Show episode from early 2021. The part about her involvement in the investigation of Silk Road was amazing—American Kingpin is still one of my favorite books, by the way—but the entire episode is insight and prediction rich.
Great weekend listen. I want to get her on Where It Happens ASAP!
Listen to it on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.
One Bonus:
This is a great thread of visualizations on growth, productivity, procrastination, luck, and success. I loved the art style and the ideas.
My favorite:
Goals set the course, but systems drive the progress. James Clear calls them rudders and oars—goals are the rudders that set the direction, but systems are the oars that propel you forward. I think about that concept a lot…
