A better translation for "premeditatio malorum" is "negative visualization" - from the book "A guide to the good life" by William B. Irvine which was recommended by Toby Lutke - the CEO of Shopify on a podcast a few years ago.

It's a tempting argument as it turns the table on its head. But it stifles "growth mindset" since the focus is heavy on preserving and saving. So probably a good model during crisis management but the trick would be to quickly move out and switch gears once the crisis has dissipated.
